FITO HILLCLIMB (Spanish Champ.)

The 2018 Spanish Hillclimb Championship held at the Fito its third round of the season. The Asturias based event was once again also the Spanish round of the European Champioship as well as the opening date of the Asturian series. More than 120 competitors entered the race, and among them there were two at the wheel of the two CM models built by Speed Car: Edgar Montellá, with the GTR, and Adrián Artidiello, with the GT1000.

Montellá was along the whole weekend in the fight for the top positions of the category 2 in the Spanish Hillclimb championship. The young Andorra born driver was fourth in the first timed climb, run on Saturday, with a 2:55.426 that put him just half a second shy of the second position.

On Sunday, Edgar improved almost a second his previous best time to get to the second place in the second timed run and put himself third overall. Finally, in the last climb, he was just one tenth away from the second position and finished the weekend as third in the overall results of the category 2. A great result that confirms the Speed Car GTR driver as one of the main contenders in the category for the 'CM-promotion' cars.

Edgar Montellá (3rd category 2, Spanish Champ.)

Adrián Artidiello (2nd grop CM, Asturian champ.)

In the Asturias Hillclimb Championship, Adrián Artidiello fought until the final climb for the win in the group CM at the wheel of his Speed Car GT1000. The formar bike trial driver started at the Fito his second season in hillclimbing and scored good times. On Saturday he was third in the category 1 of the regional series, first among the CM, and on Sunday he had finally to settle for the second position of his group, just one tenth behind the winner, and the fifth overall in the Asturian series. Adrián was also eight in the category 2 of the Spanish championship.
