The third round of the 2018 Spanish Autocross championship was held the first weekend of May at the Eduardo Lalana circuit in Esplús. It was the second year in a row that the national series visited the location in the Huesca area, and the event was run with good weather and an important amount of spectators.

For the Speed Car drivers the racing at Esplús meant yet more good results. Juan José Aranda, in the division III, and Juanjo Moll, in carcross, got to the top step of the podium, while Pol Catalá and Arnau Biosca were second and third in the Junior category.

Juan José Aranada had already won last year in the mayden run of the national series at Esplús. And the Speed Car won the Division III again in the second running of the event. At the wheel of his TTR, Aranda was the fastest in qualifying and was soon leading the final race, god a great pace that made him un reachable for his fellow competitors.

Very close to a podium position finished Ares Lahoz, fourth under the chequered flag after scoring the fastest lap of the race with her Speed Car TTX, while Eduardo Sotelo, winner in the first heat with his TTR, was unlucky in the final and had to settle for sixth after managing to complete just five of the ten laps scheduled.

Juanjo Moll was again on the top of the podium

Juan José Moll recovered in the best possible way from the dissapointing news of being excluded from the results of Lleida's race, when he crossed first under the chequered flag. At Esplús, the current CarCross Champion showed again at the wheel of his Xtrem how he's the fastest in the most competitive category of the Spanish Autocross. The Speed Car driver set the best time in qualifying, won the first heat and scored a commanding win in the final to remain in the title fight despite the unexpected setback of his finally no points scoring win in Lleida.

Five other drivers got to the final with the Xtrems from Industrias Lahoz. The best result went to Jordi Puigvert, who finished in fourth position. Seventh was David Casadevall, while Joaquín Fontán completed the top ten.

Less lucky were Josep Arqué, who was running in second position until a small mistake close to the end of the race sent him back to 12th at the end of the race, and Jordi Colomer, who could only complete three laps in the final.
