The second last round of the 2019 Spanish Hillclimb Championship was held the last weekend of September. The event run near Totana, in the Murcia region, had more than sixty entrants, and among them were the three drivers that are following the national series at the wheel of the CM cars built by Industrias Lahoz, Edgar Montellá and the Aldomar brothers, Miguel Ángel y Pedro.
Edgar Montella secured a podium position in the final results of the Spanish Championship category 2. The young Andorra born driver fought for the third position with his Speed Car GTR at La Santa with the local driver Rubén Cerezo and his perfect knowledge of the fast and technichal 3.8 kilometers road that goes trough the Sierra Espuña mountains up to the Santa Eulalia's church. Even if Edgar had finally to settle for the fourth position, the points scored at Totana and the fact that his direct rival, Arkaitz Ordoki, who crashed on Sunday, left the third position mathematically secured for the Speed Car driver. Edgar is currently second in total points and have also some chances to finish in the runner up position, which he could still get against Garikoitz Flores in the last round of the season, the Les Revoltes d'Ibi hillclimb, due mid October.
For the Aldomar brothers, the La Santa hillclimb was another positive experience in the national series right one year from their debut in the championship. Despite some troubles on Saturday, Miguel Ángel got back in action on Sunday, recovering positions to finish eight of the category 2 with his Speed Car GTR. Pedro scored also his best times the second day and finished fourth in the category 1 with his veteran but still valid Speed Car GT1000.
