CHANTADA (Spanish Champ.a)


The Chantada Hillclimb, in the area of the 'Ribeira Sacra', was the spectacular escenary, the 9, 10 and 11 of August, for the fifth round of the 2019 Spanish Hillclimb Championship. The Galicien avent produced yet another good performance by Edgar Montellà, who finished very close to the podium in the Category 2 of the National series with his Speed Car GTR. The young Andorra born driver was figthing for the third position the whole weekend, always a few thents away in the three timed climbs. Finally, Edgar had to settle for fourth, less than a second shy of third. A result that allows him to keep the third position in the overall standings of the category 2 with just to rounds to the end of the season.

There was also a Speed Car driver in the 'Trofeo Chantada', for the local drivers and also entered by the competitors whose cars were not elegible for the national series. At the wheel of his Speed Car GT1000, José Antonio De Arriba was fifth thanks to scoring good times in the two race runs held on Sunday, recovering from the bad luck of Saturday when he set a poor time because some issues in the first timed run.
