AUTOCROSS MOTORLAND (Spanish Championhip)


The circuit of Motorland Aragón opened the season of the 2019 Spanish Autocross Championshipthe 9th and 10th of March. With nice weather and almost one hundreth entrants for the several categories of the series, the race weekend was a very good starting point for a highly anticipated year of close competition.

For the drivers racing at Motorland at the wheel of the Industrias Lahoz built Speed Car, the first event of the season left good feelings despite a bit of misfortune that left some of them whitout the results they deserved. In Car Cross, Juan José Moll showed again that he's the absolute reference of the category with his Xtrem, scoring yet another win to add to his already huge tally. In the División III, Ares Lahoz won one of the heats but a tecnichal issue prevented her to get to the podium in the final, where ended up the Suede Erholm, also at the wheel of a Speed Car. And in Junior, Josep Aranda crossed the finish line third although he was excluded afterwards.

Mixed outcome for the Speed Car drivers in the División III. Ares Lahoz won one of the heats but a breakdown let her whitout any chance in the final when she had more than secured a podium finish.

To the podium got finally the Suede Christem Enholm, who finished third with his MV Agusta engined Speed Car. Right behind him finished his fellow countryman Johny Andreas Karlson, aldo racing at Motorland with an Industrias Lahoz built car.

CAR CROSS

Juan José Moll

Juan José Moll started the 2019 season as he had finish the 2018, winning. The Escudería Mollerusa's driver was again unstopable at the wheel of his Speed Car Xtrem and scored yet another win after dominating at ease the final race to end up the 10 laps more than 3 seconds ahead of his closest follower. With this win, still provisional until the scrutineering is done, Moll gets to the top of the stadings and begins to look like the hottest candidate to the title.

Four other drivers got to the final for the best 15 driving the Industrias Lahoz built Xtrem, again the model with more cars in the final race of a national event. Next trhough the finiah line was Pol Catalá, who finished seventh, while Josep María Vila and Pepe Arqué finished 11th and 12th. Santiago Montalbán was unlucky as he got out of the race in the first lap.

CAR CROSS JUNIOR

The Junior ended up producing quite different results for the three young drivers who raced at Motorland with the Speed Car Xtrem. Josep Aranda completed a great race in third position but was excluded afterwards. Laura Lista finished fourth, confirming her progess at the wheel of the carcross, and Eduard Bañeres couldn't get trough the first lap, being classified sixth.
