CHANTADA HILLCLIMB (Spanish Champ.)

Edgar Montellà scored in the Chantada Hillclimb his fourth podium of the season in the category 2 of the Sportech Spanish Hillclimb Championship. The Andorra born driver put his Speed Car GTR in third position among the 'CM-Promoción' cars after a very good drive in the event held in the region of Galicia, the second last of this year schedule.

Edgar set the third fastest time of the category 2 in the three timed climbs run along the weekend, one on Saturday afternoon and two on Sunday morning. All were held under a bright sun, with high temperatures that increased the difficulty of the course in the 'Ribeira Sacra', with a very narrow and twisty first half, among vineyards, followed by a very fast second sector, on a three lanes wide road. Chantada's result puts Edgar fifth overall of the series, with chances to still fight for a top three position in the championship, which last round is due at the La Santa Hillclimb the 29th and 30th of September.
